Comments on an Evening with Patricia & Robert Fripp

Audiences Are Saying...

"Patricia - Robert is as hard working, determined and motivated as you are. I was going to say energetic as well, but there is a different, quieter energy about him, which seems unusual for a rock star. What a delightful treat to listen to. You're a magical combination."
—Ann Mahony

"It was so great to listen to you and your brother. You make a great team. Your high energy is a complement to Robert's deliberate thoughtfulness."
—Jonathan Stone, President, Another Dancing Bear Productions

"Fripp - thanks to you and your brother for the outstanding program at NSA's Performance Lab. I thoroughly enjoyed your presentation, and always gain wonderful ideas from you both."
—Beth Terry, CSP, Certified Speaking Professional & Author

"Thank you Robert and Patricia for giving such an incredible presentation at the NSA Performance Lab. You were a vital and valuable asset to the entire experience. You are both simply incredible. I will be forever grateful for your input, participation, and influence. The brother/sister act was first class and will remain a memorable highlight for all the attendance...especially me! It was useful, challenging, inspiration, and awesome to have a front row seat at the feel the two masters."
—Dan Thurmon, NSA Lab Conference Chairman

"My sister and I loved being with and hearing from the Brother and Sister Fripp. It was brilliant hearing how he feels and thinks."
—Edward Ovsepyan

"I really enjoyed the Fripp & Fripp evening speaking performance. It was nice to see the way you two complement each other. I would not have thought I could sit for over three hours listening to someone speak, and not be bored for one moment. To the contrary, it was all fascinating.

I was impressed with Robert's response to questions, in the way he would carefully consider them before delivering his eloquent and thoughtful reply."
—Peter Lace

"Although I attended the Fripp & Fripp 'How to Be a Hero On and Off the Stage' event as a long-time fan of Robert Fripp and King Crimson, I found Robert such a dynamic and entertaining speaker. It was one of the best presentations I have ever heard. The entire evening seminar exceeded all my expectations. More than two weeks later I'm still talking about it to anyone who will listen! Count on me gladly attending anything else you two put together in the future as I'm sure it will be as interesting, enlightening, and fun as this event was. I am very much looking forward to receiving the recording when it becomes available. Thanks again!"
—Joyce Thorn

"Mel and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Brother and you at the Fripp & Fripp evening. Just hearing about his life and how he got into in the music industry and evolved so masterfully was extremely interesting. How very special. Robert is a brilliant, articulate, philosophical, entertaining, and very humorous public speaker. His sister is naturally a speaking master."
—Gig and Mel Owen

"Thanks so much to both of you for offering this wonderful Fripp & Fripp event. I found the stories inspiring, humorous, and insightful on a number of levels. You are both excellent and engaging speakers and motivators!"
—Henry Hadeed

"Thank you for the Fripp & Fripp seminar, 'How to Be a Hero On and Off the Stage' with your brother Robert. I enjoyed hearing his very rich insights, and hearing your stories."
—Gary Karp, Speaker, Author, Trainer

"Thanks you for such an amazing Fripp and Fripp event."
—Shirley Davalos and Kevin McCormack

"What a wonderful Fripp & Fripp seminar, 'How to Be a Hero On and Off the Stage.' What could be better than an evening of brilliant and articulate conversation. Robert is really a modern day philosopher with a rich life experience."
—Bob Berke

"Watching and listening to Fripp and Fripp and seeing the impact on two totally different audiences was astonishing. Robert Fripp's message has universal appeal to everyone from musicians to executives and everyone in between. Listening to Robert who is brilliant, philosophical and well-spoken was music to my ears and brain.

Not every talented person can teach. We all know those brilliant but BORING teachers who acted as sleeping pills. Robert Fripp is riveting and that is a quality of the best of teachers. It is safe to say, he was mesmerizing. The bonus is that Robert Fripp can tell a story, come up with an insight, irony or observation that made me laugh out loud!

As a best selling author and convention speaker for over twenty years I have watched many great speakers. Few have the insights and brilliance of Robert Fripp."
Susan RoAne, Author How to Work a Room, The Secrets of Savvy Networking, What Do I Say Next, Creating Your Own Luck

"I heard your Fripp & Fripp concurrent session at the National Speakers Association SpeakerPalooza was an off the hook success! Eric Chester mentioned several veteran speakers came out of your session proclaiming it one of the best ever. I cannot wait for you to rock the house in Vegas at the Performance Lab!"
—Dan Thurman, Conference Chair, NSA Performance Lab

"It has been a few days, now, and I am beginning to piece together my impressions of the remarkable evening which you brought about 'Fripp and Fripp How to be a Hero On and Off the Platform.'

The dominant impression for me is one of a high emotional charge; perhaps it was the fact that both brother and sister were so putting themselves on the line — together which made everything seem so vibrant and brittle.

It may have seemed, at first glance, that many of the questions and answers had a strong intellectual pull, and yet, to me, yours and Robert's communication felt very emotional — the emotional textures seem to be all that I am left with — this is due in part to the fact that you offered to record the whole evening — in a way, it liberated my 'left-brain' from its obsessive desire to remember everything — I was free to feel...

I felt the weight of two very rich lives, earnestly sharing the cream of their human experience with a very focused audience — what an astounding intensity! I hope the experience was as rich for you both as it clearly was for us, the audience.

Robert has been a very important part of my evolution as a person, and in large part, in ways that I am unable to describe. As I told Robert, after the lecture, it came as no surprise to me to discover that the person behind the music was every bit as rich - humanly - as his creations...

For what it is worth, my vote goes for encouraging Robert to continue to speak publicly - Robert is a Shaman, and Shamanic tradition makes room for public speaking — Speech is a great gift — Terrence McKenna used to say that Physical Reality was all made of words - that the world is all conceptual, and that in the beginning - truly is the word — Both you and Robert clearly have the gift and truly a lot to offer as motivational speakers...
I am thankful for a very memorable and intimate evening with Robert and Patricia Fripp. Thank you both."
—Sylvain Despretz, Film Designer and Illustrator

"Hey Patricia, your session with your brother Robert Fripp at the National Speakers Association conference was wonderful and most definitely the highlight of the weekend for me. And of course as a successful guitarist myself I very much appreciate the opportunity to meet your magnificent brother. Thank you.

He's a fantastic player and, as a lifelong student of the instrument I am just honored to get the brief benefit of his council. Thank you!"
—Mike Rayburn

"I was fortunate enough to attend Fripp and Fripp last night in San Francisco (it happened to coincide with a business trip to the city). Last night was the first time I've seen Robert live which, when spending several hours with a musician you admire, is an interesting introduction to his live performances.

In these diaries, Robert sometimes discusses his actual performances — what goes right, what goes wrong, the things he sees and feels and the energies that he doesn't see, but feels. Robert has a gift for the creative process. Most of us know this by his music; he is ever changing, never settling, and uses uncomfortable situations to breed creativity. So while I can realize this through listening to a Crimson album, watching a video of a live show, or looking at (an approved) photograph, I saw it first hand but without guitar in hand. Thanks for the wonderful evening."
—Mick Larkins

"Both Sheila and I enjoyed the Fripp & Fripp Live 'How to Be a Hero On and Off the Stage.' Robert is fabulous and extremely entertaining. The time flew by and we left wanting more. Even after three hours!"
—David Aldrich, Owner, Old Fort Inn

"Dear Patricia, Congratulations to your wonderful brother Robert Fripp!! I was truly impressed with him...his message, articulation of ideas, and he is truly a unique speaker and individual. We love Estonia...have been there a couple times. So it is very especially interesting to know he has received a medal for them."
—Naomi Rhode, Past President, National Speakers Association

—Thomas J. Caudle, Director of Technology, Ursa Minor Arts + Media

—Dr. Janelle Barlow, President, TMIUSA, Author, Emotional Value

—Holly Stiel

"You and Robert were two of the highlights of the National Speakers Association conference. As you know, I have been studying speakers for 30 years. It was wonderful to see and hear him... after hearing so much about him. He and his comments were profound, spiritual and charming."
