"It has been a few days, now, and I am beginning to piece together my impressions of the remarkable evening which you brought about 'Fripp and Fripp How to be a Hero On and Off the Platform.'
The dominant impression for me is one of a high emotional charge; perhaps it was the fact that both brother and sister were so putting themselves on the line — together which made everything seem so vibrant and brittle.
It may have seemed, at first glance, that many of the questions and answers had a strong intellectual pull, and yet, to me, yours and Robert's communication felt very emotional — the emotional textures seem to be all that I am left with — this is due in part to the fact that you offered to record the whole evening — in a way, it liberated my 'left-brain' from its obsessive desire to remember everything — I was free to feel...
I felt the weight of two very rich lives, earnestly sharing the cream of their human experience with a very focused audience — what an astounding intensity! I hope the experience was as rich for you both as it clearly was for us, the audience.
Robert has been a very important part of my evolution as a person, and in large part, in ways that I am unable to describe. As I told Robert, after the lecture, it came as no surprise to me to discover that the person behind the music was every bit as rich - humanly - as his creations...
For what it is worth, my vote goes for encouraging Robert to continue to speak publicly - Robert is a Shaman, and Shamanic tradition makes room for public speaking — Speech is a great gift — Terrence McKenna used to say that Physical Reality was all made of words - that the world is all conceptual, and that in the beginning - truly is the word — Both you and Robert clearly have the gift and truly a lot to offer as motivational speakers...

"I was fortunate enough to attend Fripp and Fripp last night in San Francisco (it happened to coincide with a business trip to the city). Last night was the first time I've seen Robert live which, when spending several hours with a musician you admire, is an interesting introduction to his live performances.
In these diaries, Robert sometimes discusses his actual performances — what goes right, what goes wrong, the things he sees and feels and the energies that he doesn't see, but feels.
Robert has a gift for the creative process. Most of us know this by his music; he is ever changing, never settling, and uses uncomfortable situations to breed creativity. So while I can realize this through listening to a Crimson album, watching a video of a live show, or looking at (an approved) photograph, I saw it first hand but without guitar in hand.
